AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a unexpected partnership that defies conventional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Mission Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious confrontation leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of banned ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret cult.
The questline focuses on "bizarre tests and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Transformations
The trailer features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview concludes with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Bonus Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an exclusive katana in addition to numerous objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's third free story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.
